Terms of Service
Draft — last revised 12 July 2026. Effective date pending launch.
These terms cover your use of the Dust app and this website. Dust is a writing tool, and these terms are meant to be as plain and fair as the app itself. By using Dust, you agree to them.
Your writing is yours
You own everything you write in Dust. Using Dust grants us no ownership of your content and no license to your writing beyond what is technically required to store and sync it for you. We do not read, publish, sell, or train on your writing.
Using Dust
- Use Dust for lawful purposes and in line with the App Store terms you agreed to when installing it.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse the security of, or abuse the sync service.
- You are responsible for keeping your own backups; export to Markdown or PDF is available at any time.
Purchases
Any paid features or subscriptions are sold and billed through Apple's App Store. Pricing, renewals, and refunds are handled under Apple's terms and your App Store account settings.
Availability & changes
Dust is offered as-is and as-available. Features may change, and the sync service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance. Because your writing is stored locally and is always exportable, a sync interruption never puts your work out of reach.
Warranty & liability
To the extent permitted by law, Dust is provided without warranties of any kind, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing here limits rights that can't be limited under the law that applies to you.
Business of record & governing law
Dust is provided by [legal entity name], based in [jurisdiction]. These terms are governed by the laws of that jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date before it takes effect.
